Happy Sunday everybody!
I hope you had a good week. Very productive, very rewarding.
This week, I want to talk about declutter.
I feel like that’s something That I struggle with a lot. I have soo much stuff. I don’t know how it got this bad.
And to be honest, for the most part, I like the things that I have. But it’s time to face the facts and realise that something needs to change.
But this post isn’t just about getting rid of things, it’s also about decluttering any aspect of your life that is needed.
So, if you are in need of a new start, and you want to declutter your life, then let’s do it together!
Cleaned space:
I think the thing I keep coming back to is having a cleaned space. I really want to have a clean environment, I think that it really helps with my mood and productivity.
To me that’s one of the biggest challenge.
And so, in order to change this, I need to change my behaviors.
That might be cleaning my room twice a week, or folding my clothes and put them away immediately.
Maybe I can even use the techniques from last week, and create some sort of system where I reward myself if I have been consistently cleaning my room.
But in order to declutter my room, I have decided to actually go through my clothes and just get rid of anything I don’t like anymore, or doesn’t fit me, or just things I don’t need.
You can then donate these things, or even sell them.
And that is exactly what I did today.
I went through my wardrobe, and put aside all the things I no longer want, and washed it all,
Then today, me and my boyfriend went to a car boot sale, and we put up a rail, and got all the clothes hung up.
To be honest, we didn’t really sell that many things, but it was only our first time.
It was definitely fun, and the weather was really nice for it too.
Another way to get rid of unwanted items is to either sell it, or donate it.
Because we ended up not selling many things, I have decided to donate some of it, and I plan to sell the rest on Vinted.
Screen time:
The other thing I really struggle with is my screen time.
I just feel like it consumes me.
It crushes my creativity, and I find myself never wanting to do anything else.
Don’t get me wrong. I love a good scroll through Pinterest. It makes me so inspired.
But it’s about being in control of your life and decluttering all the bad habits.
So, I would suggest cutting down your screen time by creating reminders, or even having app timers, where you get locked out of the app after a certain time.
However, what I’ve decided to do is a little more drastic.
For the longest time I have wanted a flip phone and recently I bought the Barbie flip phone...
Ya.. that’s right!
I bought the Barbie flip phone, and I have no regrets.
The only thing I want to do now is use it.
I’m still very much attached to my phone, but I just need to rip off the Band-Aid.
So, this week I will be bedazzling it, and then doing the transfer.
I am actually pretty excited.
Negative thoughts:
The last thing I have struggled with is bad thoughts, and I would also like to declutter them from my mind.
It might be that you are kept awake by deep thoughts, or you are being negative towards yourself.
Whatever it is, I know that it can be frustrating at times, but it doesn’t have to be like that forever.
This just all comes back to the way you view yourself, and your habits.
In order to declutter your mind, what I like to do is write down everything that comes to mind.
Specially when I wake up, I like to write about the day before, and hopes for the day.
What I should start doing is writing things down before I go to sleep. My concerns and fears.
That way I can sleep in peace.
That is pretty much all I have to say today.
I hope you have a great week.
I know my week is going to be full of work and pink gems.
Let me know what you want to declutter from your life.
Gratitude segment:
1- I am grateful for my first car boot sale.
2- I am grateful for my Barbie phone.
3- I am grateful for my Laptop.
4- I am grateful for Pizza.
Love, Dee
